What is Process Mining?

Process mining is a method for capturing and analyzing data about the workflows in an organization. A family of techniques relating the fields of data science and process management to support the analysis of operational processes based on event logs. The goal of process mining is to turn event data into insights and actions. It can be used to analyze how people are working, what they are doing, where they are spending their time, how long things take, etc. It can also be used to identify bottlenecks in the workflow and recommend improvements to them. The process of process mining involves using specialized software that captures data from different sources like emails, documents, chat logs or voice conversations.
